Cookie Policy
Last updated: July 16, 2026
This Cookie Policy explains how Judgy (operated by Caleido design di Paduret Cristian — see our Legal Notice) uses cookies and similar technologies such as browser local storage. It supplements our Privacy Policy.
1. The Short Version
- We use no advertising cookies, no analytics cookies, and no tracking pixels — anywhere.
- The only storage we use is strictly necessary for the Service to work (keeping Owners signed in, preventing duplicate feedback) or for security (blocking bots and spam).
- The website shows a cookie banner where you can review this and record your preferences for optional cookie categories (analytics, marketing) — none of which we currently use. See Your Cookie Choices below.
2. What We Actually Store
| Technology | Set by | Purpose | Category & duration |
|---|---|---|---|
| Firebase Authentication session (browser local storage / IndexedDB) | Google Firebase (first-party context) | Keeps a signed-in Owner authenticated in the dashboard between visits. | Strictly necessary; persists until you log out or delete your browser data. |
feedbackSentAt:<restaurant id> (browser local storage) |
Judgy (first-party) | After a Guest submits feedback, marks that device as having already answered, so it sees a thank-you screen instead of a new form for that restaurant. Contains only a timestamp; never leaves the device; not used for tracking. | Strictly necessary; stops applying after 24 hours, and the entry is removed from local storage the next time the form is opened after that. |
Google reCAPTCHA Enterprise (may set cookies such as _GRECAPTCHA and use device signals) |
Verifies that feedback submissions come from real browsers, not bots (fraud and abuse prevention via Firebase App Check). Loaded only on the guest feedback form, not on the marketing site or the owner dashboard. Governed by Google’s Privacy Policy. | Security; duration set by Google (typically up to 6 months). | |
judgy-cookie-consent (browser local storage) |
Judgy (first-party) | Remembers the cookie preferences you chose in the cookie banner, so we do not ask again on every visit. Contains only your category choices and a timestamp; never leaves the device. | Strictly necessary; expires after 12 months, after which the banner asks again. |
| Stripe cookies (checkout and billing portal only) | Stripe, our payment processor | When you purchase or manage a subscription on Stripe’s hosted checkout and billing-portal pages, Stripe sets cookies needed to process the payment and prevent payment fraud, under the Stripe Privacy Policy. | Strictly necessary / security; duration set by Stripe. |
Our fonts are self-hosted and our pages contain no third-party embeds (no YouTube, no social widgets, no embedded maps), so no other third party sets cookies through the Service.
3. Your Cookie Choices
When you first visit the website, a cookie banner lets you Accept all, keep Necessary only, or Customize your preferences per category:
- Strictly necessary — always active; the Service cannot work without it.
- Analytics and Marketing — optional categories, off by default. We currently set no cookies in either category; your choice is recorded and will be honored automatically if we ever introduce them (and we will update this page first).
Your choice is stored on your device for 12 months. You can review or change it at any time via the Cookie Preferences link in the page footer.
4. How to Manage or Delete This Storage
You can clear cookies and site data at any time through your browser’s settings (usually under “Privacy” or “Site data”), and you can configure your browser to block storage for specific sites. Note that clearing this data will sign Owners out of the dashboard, and blocking it may prevent the feedback form or the dashboard from working, since everything we store is functional.
5. Changes to This Policy
If we start using any new category of cookies or storage, we will update this page (with a new “last updated” date) before doing so, and, where required by applicable law, we will ask for your consent.
